Premonitions - what are they and what do they look like?
What is a premonition?
The definition of a premonition… a strong feeling that something is about to happen, especially something unpleasant.
What’s considered ‘unpleasant’ is subjective—it can range from mildly inconvenient to deeply upsetting.
Like, turning up at an event where the venue is alcohol free. This was my recent experience and for some, that would not be unpleasant at all. For others, this would be mildly unpleasant. For me on that night, it was rather annoying as I had been looking forward to a glass of wine!
Do premonitions always mean something bad?
Often premonitions are associated with bad things, that something bad is about to happen… I challenge this.
I challenge this because universe talks to us all the time, our spirit team is always on the lookout to help you on your life journey, lend a helping hand, whether that be big or small.
And as above, a premonition could be your spirit team giving you a heads up about something unpleasant that is about to happen, or yes it could be a warning about something more serious. By staying open minded, means you’ll receive universal guidance more easily. Unpleasant or not. Nudges are there for a reason…
Why are premonitions important?
Well… like I said, a premonition is a warning to prepare you for something that is about to happen. Yep, that’s it, a warning. You may not be able to change what is going to happen, but you are being made aware to change your course of action.
What does a premonition look like?
This could be different for different people. Spirit information can come through in different forms. For me, it’s an uneasy feeling, a persistent thought, and sometimes coupled with images I see in my mind’s eye.
Here’s a couple of my personal experiences.
Recently, before heading to Cael O’Donnell’s mediumship event in Ballarat, I kept getting a strong nudge to bring a can of limoncello spritz from my fridge. The thought kept nagging at me. I also had an uneasy feeling when I ignored it. I felt pulled to the fridge. It didn’t make sense—I was driving, and figured I’d just grab a wine at the event. But when I arrived, I found out it was an alcohol-free bar!
A while back one the final day of camping, I kept seeing flashes of an accident, which I chose to ignore. I also had this really uneasy feeling. When we were all packed and started to drive out of the camping grounds, our trailer fell off! In hindsight, I’d had a clear warning—when the trailer fell off, I realised Spirit had been telling me to do a final check.
Here's some other premonition examples:
· Meeting someone special (not unpleasant but a warning, maybe dress up extra special)
· Someone about to break up with you
· Someone passing
Conclusion
The most important thing with premonitions is to listen and acknowledge them, even when they don’t make immediate sense. In time, they will.
That uneasy feeling, that persistent thought—it’s universe, your spirit team guiding you.
If I’d listened, I’d have had that limoncello on hand and double-checked the trailer.
Have you ever had a gut feeling or sixth sense that turned out to be true? I’d love to hear your story—feel free to share it in the comments or email me directly.
