How to clear energy - a daily practise that helps to strengthen your intuition

Every day I have this daily practise, and it can help you too.

We collect energy from people around us all the time. A build up of energy can affect our mental clarity and ability to tune into our higher self, or intuition. By clearing the energy that attaches to us on a daily basis, you can strengthen your connection to your inner wisdom and guidance system aka spirit guidance.

What is energy clearing?

Energy clearing is the process of removing stagnant, negative, or heavy energy from your body to restore balance and clarity. This practice is often used to release unwanted emotional or mental blockages, negative thought patterns, or external influences that may be affecting your well-being. By clearing energy, you create space for greater mental clarity and a stronger connection to your intuition and spirit guidance. Energy clearing can be done through various techniques, such as reiki, kinesiology, using crystals, or as I do, grounding, clearing and protecting (GCP - a practise learned from spiritual coach Isabeau Maxwell), except I don’t believe in the need for protection.

Why it’s important for intuition

We are surrounded by people a lot of the time, at home, work, when we are out and about. Collecting energy is a normal and naturally occuring event. But it’s important we clear it off, just like having a shower every day. If we don’t, it can stop of us from being able to hear our intuition or spirit guidance.

Here are three steps for clearing energy that you can do on a daily basis. Create this as a morning or evening ritual to start or end the day with an energy clearing. Do it when it feels best for you.

3 steps for clearing energy

Step 1 - Grounding

  • Sit somewhere you won’t be disturbed. This could be your couch, favourite chair, or a cushion on your bedroom floor.

  • Take a few deep breaths, drop into the moment.

  • Ground yourself by visualising an anchor going deep into the earth from your root chakra aka your tailbone.

  • You can also visualise roots going deep into the ground. You might like to feel rather than visualise. Do what works for you.

Step 2 - Clearing

  • Next, imagine water flowing down over you from above your head. Similar to a waterfall, let it flow all over you, feeling it over every part of your body down to your toes.

  • You can also visualise yourself floating in a calm body of water. Or imagine and feel a gentle breeze going from the front to behind your body.

  • Take a few moments doing this.

Step 3 - Receiving

  • Now rather than protecting, I like to sit in the stillness and actively expand my awareness to the energy field around me and beyond. I don’t believe we need protecting.

  • If I am short on time, this is where I end things expressing gratitude to universe and thanks for the day.

  • If I have more time, I use this as my opportunity to problem solve, receive or ask for spirit guidance, or set my day up for success with intentions.

  • If you have time, a simple place to start is by asking universe “what is the most important thing I need to know today?”

Clearing throughout the day

Throughout the day you might find yourself in a challenging situation where you feel off kilter. In these moments, imagine the energy of the moment passing through you. I used to visualise a protection bubble of white light around me but I found that hard work energetically. Visualising energy passing through me was much easier. Again, do what feels right for you.

Conclusion

Clearing energy is a powerful practice that helps restore clarity and strengthen your intuition by ridding yourself of energy build up. Just like having a shower every day to clean your physical body, it’s just as important to clear and clean our energetic body. If you do this on a regular basis, you’ll notice feeling more centred, heightened intuition and spiritual connection.
